Dr. Rouse entered general small animal practice in 2001. She is a 1993 North Carolina State graduate and a 2000 North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine graduate. She interned at a small animal specialty practice in Maryland after graduating NCSU CVM from July 2000 to April 2001. After her internship she returned to Raleigh, NC where she joined a large general small animal practice that also provided emergency experience. In 2005, she relocated to the Philadelphia area where she continued her work in general practice. While practicing as a solo general practitioner, she completed her certification as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) at the University of Tennessee’s program in June 2014. In June 2021, she left general practice to pursue full time veterinary sports medicine and rehabilitation medicine. She successfully completed an AVCA accredited program in animal chiropractic therapy (CVSMT) in 2022. In addition to her certifications, she is a regular attendee of the annual STAAR conference, where internationally renowned lecturers on the topic of veterinary rehab medicine update practitioners on all aspects of rehabilitation medicine. Her professional interests include canine sports medicine and surgery, veterinary chiropractic care, veterinary rehabilitation medicine, function and disorders of the myofascia, pain management, anesthesiology, general surgery (orthopedic and soft tissue), reconstructive surgery and chronic wound management. She obtained her certification as a PennHip member in 2004. She has previously offered regenerative medicine and has performed both Stem Cell and Platelet Rich Plasma treatments for her patients for both intra-articular and tendon disorders. In August of 2023, she moved back to North Carolina joining her husband, son, and five dogs: a Border Collie, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and three Border Staffies. Her current project is renovating the farm that her husband inherited and establishing Homestead Veterinary Rehab in this new location
