Overview
A progressive, 3-veterinarian practice located in Broken Bow, Nebraska. We have been providing comprehensive beef cattle production medicine and ranch horse medicine to Custer County and surrounding communities for over 50 years
1953: It started as Pitt Veterinary Clinic and was located where the Pizza Hut on Highway 2 is currently located. 1964: Dr. Coyle purchased Pitt Veterinary Clinic, renamed it Coyle Veterinary Clinic and moved the business out to where Jack and Diane Longfellow currently live. 1974: On March 1st, Dr. Harold McCaslin purchased the practice from Dr. Coyle. He renamed the practice to Broken Bow Animal Hospital and for 2 years operated the clinic where Dr. Coyle had. 1976: Dr. McCaslin bought 4 acres from Glenn Ferguson and built the east half of the building where the current practice resides. 1977: That October, Dr. McCaslin was joined by Dr. Ken McGaughey and the partnership would grow over the next 18 years. 1985: They remodeled the outside corrals, pouring a concrete base and building the pipe corals. Some years later, after several animals had jumped the 5 foot corrals, it was decided to raise them to 6 feet. In what would become quite the renovation, the pipes were cut into 12 inch pieces and welded into place. 1995: Dr. Scott Reynolds joined the clinic and the three continued to grow the practice. 1996: Dr. Reynolds became a partner of BBAH. 2001: They expanded the clinic building to the west and dedicated the Lounge in the fall of that year. 2013: In May, they added an associate veterinarian, Dr. Jack Smith. 2014: Dr. Smith became a partner of BBAH. 2017: On July 1st, Harold McCaslin retired as the patriarch of BBAH. 2019: On July 1st, Ken McGaughey retired from the veterinary practice. 2021: On June 1st, Dr McKenzie Hendricks joined the practice. 2023: Dr. Hendricks became a partner of BBAH. 2024: On March 1st, we celebrate 50 years as the Broken Bow Animal Hospital. 2025: Dr. Scott Reynolds retired from the practice on July 1st. Now: Dr. Smith and Dr. Hendricks continue to grow the practice and strive to provide the best assistance to all their current and future clients
