Dr. Zimmerman grew up on a farm tending to livestock. He left home for his service to the US Army, then attended veterinary school at Iowa State University, graduating in 1992. From there he practiced in Grand Island, Indiana, before finally landing in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Zimmerman purchased the Benson Animal Clinic in 1998 and has been the sole practicing veterinarian to this day
