Dr. Stephens has always been passionate about tending to the care and well-being of animals. After graduating from Penn State in 1998 with a degree in Biology and Vertebrate Physiology, she worked as a zookeeper at Lion Country Safari in Florida. While there, she solidified her lifelong commitment to the field by being accepted to the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. During her time at Purdue, she also completed coveted externships at the San Francisco and Indianapolis Zoos and worked emergency shifts at the university's diagnostic lab. Dr. Stephens graduated in 2004, excited to join a great team at a small animal hospital in Pennsylvania. Always eager for a new challenge, in 2007, Dr. Stephens left private practice to pursue a general medicine and surgery internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital followed by a Surgical Internship in 2008 at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists. She then spent the next year as an overnight emergency practitioner in Florida. Having refined her surgical, urgent care, and treatment skills, Dr. Stephens was ready to get back to general practice and spent the next 12 years with an amazing team in Hillsborough, NJ. In 2021, Dr. Stephens finally started pursuing her dream of opening her own hospital, assembling a stellar team, and providing a welcoming veterinary environment for the Basking Ridge community. Three Bridges Veterinary Hospital, established in 2023, is a startup veterinary hospital built on a solid foundation of diverse, immersive experiences
