Overview

Providing compassionate care for animals since 1995

In 1955, Dr. Marvin Rothman opened the doors to Rothman Animal Hospital and began his dream of providing the highest level of veterinary care for the community's pets, including birds, reptiles and other exotic animals. As the first veterinary hospital in the area at that time to offer avian and exotic expertise, the practice quickly gained a reputation for high-quality, comprehensive medical care. In the early years of the practice, Dr. Rothman was a solo practitioner. He built the hospital based on a model of compassion for all creatures, and respectful understanding of owners' needs and concerns. Educating owners on keeping pets well was just as important as helping them care for their sick or injured pets. As the practice grew, so did its reputation. Within a few years, more veterinarians joined Dr. Rothman, and today, the hospital is staffed by six dedicated, caring doctors. In its new, state-of-the-art facility across from the original location on Route 130 in Collingswood, Rothman Animal Hospital continues to deliver outstanding veterinary care and other services, under the direction of Dr. Mark Esser. He is joined by four other experience veterinarians — all graduates of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. With an experienced team of technicians and office personnel, they continue the tradition of excellence that Rothman Animal Hospital is known for
