We all have that special breed that we are drawn to. We wanted to honor two of our incredible fur babies, who we lost prior to opening – an Alaskan Malamute and a German Shepard. Instead of incorporating their names, we decided to use their breeds. Thus, Malaherd was born – “Mala” for Alaskan Malamute and “Herd” for German Shepherd. - Janine Cole, DVM (Founder of Malaherd)
