Dr. Keith Blackmore first became interested in veterinary medicine in 1972. ... Dr. Blackmore graduated from Hiram College in 1974, attended Cornell University graduate school for Nutrition from 1974-1975, and was fortunate enough to be admitted to the Cornell Veterinary College in 1975. After several years of intense study and training, Dr. Blackmore graduated in 1979. In 1980, Dr. Blackmore established the Clinton Veterinary Hospital with two classmates. For the next 6 years, he and his team operated a clinic which treated both large and small animals as well as treating all emergencies at all hours. In 1990, Dr. Blackmore established the now well known Paris Hill Cat Hospital. This was the first cat-only veterinary clinic in Oneida County. ... Dr. Blackmore sold Paris Hill Cat Hospital in 2005 to pursue a new venture in business: Mohawk Valley Cat Care, established in 2013 (formerly known as 'Kirkland Area House Calls for Cats'). Over the last several years, Dr. Blackmore and his veterinary technician assistant Jeanne Combellack established both a low cost spay and neuter clinic as well as a house call practice just for cats. Today, Mohawk Valley Cat Care specializes in low cost spay neuter, preventative care, grooming, behavioral and end of life care, and much more
