Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group was established in 1971 by Dr. John Whitefield, who at that time held office hours and performed surgery at our Beacon office. As our client base expanded and the reputation of Dr. Whitefield grew, we opened a second location on Route 82 in Hopewell Junction in 1978. Dr. Whitefield’s dream for Hudson Highlands was to expand to include a specialty practice. In 2004, that dream was realized when we opened our newly renovated 11,000 square foot facility on Lime Kiln Road. Sadly, Dr. Whitefield died the same month as the opening, but it was enough for him to provide a “home” for his family and to enjoy the fulfilling feeling that the last piece of his professional dream was finally realized. Dr. Twila A. Whitefield (Dr. John’s wife) and the dedicated staff at Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group have continued to carry on the legacy and tradition of veterinary excellence since Dr. John’s death
