Since we do not take care of dogs and cats, everything about us is specialized for our avian and exotic patients

Dr. Heidi Hoefer opened Island Exotic Veterinary Care in 2007 as Long Island's first specialty avian and exotic pet hospital. In February 2022, Dr. Meredith Davis acquired the practice from Dr. Heidi Hoefer and continues the tradition of providing quality veterinary care to companion avian and exotic pets

Mission — Our team is committed to educating our clients on how to keep your pets healthy year round with preventive care recommendations including husbandry education, wellness bloodwork, spay and neuter surgeries and vaccination protocols for ferrets and rabbits. We are also here to diagnose and treat your pet during times of illness. Our staff strives to stay on top of the latest recommendations in exotic medicine, and above all, remembers that all animals and pets need to be treated with loving care in every check-up, procedure, or surgery
