Founded in 1969 by Dr. Donald Fox, the hospital was established to provide dependable veterinary care for dogs and cats in the local community. In 1989, the practice was purchased by Dr. Chris Southard, who continued to grow Kinderhook Animal Hospital while maintaining a strong emphasis on personalized care and long-term client relationships. In 2025, ownership passed to Dr. Kate Brust, ushering in a new chapter for the hospital
