Levittown Animal Hospital opened its doors in 1965 and was purchased by Dr. Meyer (“Mike”) Kaplan and his brother, Dr. Warran Kaplan, in 1974. Meyer Kaplan grew Levittown Animal Hospital into one of the premier veterinary facilities in the New York City Metro area, with a long history of being on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine. As one of the first veterinary surgeons on Long Island, Dr. Kaplan cared for patients referred from all over the region. He opened hospital doors to visiting veterinarians looking to learn the advanced surgical techniques employed at Levittown Animal Hospital, including the specialists that would go on to found Long Island Veterinary Specialists. Today, co-Medical Directors Dr. Sue Fischman and Dr. Olivia Drutjons partner to offer the highest quality standard of care for our patients, while operating a leading animal hospital that offers the future of veterinary medicine
