Since opening our doors in 2005, Companion Care Animal Hospital has remained locally owned and managed by Dr. Downey. Dr. Downey opened Companion Care Animal Hospital in 2005 after 12 years as a veterinarian in private practice. Growing up in a small town, he felt a strong connection to the Wheatfield area. It was the perfect setting to build something meaningful. Dr. Downey decided to create a hospital where customer education, compassion, and veterinary excellence come together. He was driven by a desire to fill the need for good quality veterinary care that was reasonably priced for the local community
