Alexandria Animal Clinic in Alexandria, OH is a full service companion animal clinic. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime. We understand the special role your pet plays in your family and are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet's health care. We treat your pet as we would our own. Our goal is to practice the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion and an emphasis on client education

The Alexandria Animal Clinic was built in the early 1950s by Dr. Fred Nichols. Dr. Nichols provided the village of Alexandria with exceptional veterinary care, for both large and small animals, for over 30 years. In August of 1988, Dr. James T. Southard took over the practice, hoping to carry on Dr. Nichols' legacy. Dr. Southard started small, with very limited staffing and one exam room. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to expand our facility to be able to grow with the thriving community of Alexandria. Dr. Southard retired in July of 2022, passing the torch to Dr. K. Lyle Simpson II. We now have two additional small-animal veterinarians practicing alongside Dr. Simpson, as well as a full staff of caring, dedicated employees
