Dr. Gesel started the Pickerington Animal Hospital treating all large and small animals upon graduation in 1973. In 1977 he joined the Columbus Health Department as the public health veterinarian. In 1984 he became an adjunct professor of preventive medicine at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Gesel returned full-time to private practice in 1996, limiting his practice to equine reproduction, medicine, surgery, and small animal medicine and surgery
