Dr. Alger attended The Ohio State University and obtained a degree in Agricultural Engineering in the area of Animal Structures and Environment prior to being admitted to the College of Veterinary Medicine at Ohio State. On graduation from veterinary school in 1984, with the help of mentors, he established the Alger Veterinary Clinic, an all large animal ambulatory practice
