Overview
Healthy Pets of New Albany is an affordable, modern, full-service neighborhood veterinary clinic serving companion pets and their owners in New Albany and the surrounding areas. We are pet owners ourselves and each of our skilled doctors and caring staff understand that your pet is an important and vital member of your family. This is why when you come to us for a routine wellness visit or emergency care you will receive the best that modern veterinary medicine has to offer within a welcoming, caring and friendly atmosphere
From a single clinic started in 1952 by Dr. Hal Taylor, Sr., Healthy Pets has grown to 8 thriving clinics – solidifying its position as central Ohio's preeminent family-operated veterinary practice. Dr. Hal Taylor, Sr. graduated from The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1950 and opened a small animal practice on the Westside of Columbus. Dr. Hal Taylor, Jr. (Doc), following in his father's esteemed footsteps, joined the practice in 1970, marking the beginning of an era of substantial growth and innovation. Together, they navigated the evolving landscape of veterinary medicine, pioneering advancements such as the development of VETWARE software by Dr. Taylor Jr., which could be utilized in a veterinary hospital to maintain patient data. Healthy Pets continues to utilize the best technology for hospital information systems available today. After Dr. Taylor Sr.'s retirement, Doc expanded the practice to 8 locations, maintaining individuality while uniting under the Healthy Pets banner in 1999. The most recent clinic, Healthy Pets of Houk Road, opened in 2024. Despite Doc's passing in 2021, the Healthy Pets legacy continues. Today, Doc's son, Dr. Hal Taylor, III (Chip) serves as Healthy Pets Medical Director and the lead veterinarian at Healthy Pets of Wedgewood. Like his father and grandfather before him, he is dedicated to continuing the Healthy Pets legacy of compassionate, quality pet care with a hometown touch, and remains diligent in ensuring that his clinics remain at the forefront of veterinary medicine
