Overview
Town & Country Veterinary Hospital is an award-winning animal hospital dedicated to providing top-quality care for your pets. Our hospital stands out for its commitment to offering extended office hours, being open 7 days a week, and providing around-the-clock care for your pet's health
The Town and Country Veterinary Hospital was built by Dr. Rufus Sparks and the late Dr. Richard T. Bell in 1976. It began as a Texaco gas station and then became the Howland Recycling Center. The hospital was built around the original gas station. The practice grew from a two veterinarian practice to a five veterinarian, thirty-two employee practice in 2000. Dr. Sparks and Dr. Bell purchased the Western Reserve Veterinary Clinic in 1980, where Dr. Bell practiced. An amicable separation between Dr. Sparks and Dr. Bell occurred in 1986. The original clinic was 1,200 square feet and contained two examination rooms and a small kennel. An addition in 1987 added two more examination rooms and a enlarged reception area, waiting area, laboratory, and kennel. We also gained a lunchroom and laundry area. The total addition was 2,100 square feet. Dr. Charles Moxley became a junior partner in 1993 and a full partner in 1998. We became a Hospital several years ago when we extended our office hours and began offering around the clock hospital care. Dr. Sparks and Dr. Moxley purchased the Parkman Veterinary Clinic in 1995 and operate it as a satellite practice. Town and Country continued to grow throughout the 1990s and early 2000s until there was no more room to operate. A larger facility was needed to allow for increased business and better patient care. In 2004, A new 8,600 square feet facility was constructed. The new building helped to improve customer service by increasing space for more efficiency, a larger staff, and better equipment
