Sutherlin Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1981 by Dr. Stephen Herrera. The original location was near downtown Sutherlin; until 1983 when Dr. Steve purchased the current property and moved the practice to 702 W. Central Avenue. For the next 7 years Dr. Steve was a single practitioner with his wife Mary working as his technician, before she left to attend vet school. Mary graduated from OSU in 1990. Steve & Mary practiced together for 15 years. Dr. Robin White started working at the clinic in 2022 after having worked at a clinic in Roseburg for 4 years and in Eugene the 12 years previously. Dr. Robin took over ownership in 2023 and Dr Mary stepped away from the clinic in 2024
