Overview

Caring Hands Animal Hospital is proud to serve Danville, PA, and surrounding areas. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of veterinary medicine along with friendly, compassionate service

Caring Hands Animal Hospital was established in 1927 by George M. Leighow, V.M.D, providing both small and large animal veterinary services. The original hospital was located on Old Bloom Road, near the Leighow family farm. In 1960, the current facility was built. From 1985 to 1998, George W. Leighow, V.M.D, assisted his father and continued to work and own the practice. In May 1998, George W. Leighow retired and the practice was purchased by Dr. Patricia Kitchen, VMD. When Dr. Kitchen retired in early 2021, Dr. Tanya Artman DVM purchased the hospital. In 2024, the hospital moved to its current location in a much larger facility. This has allowed us to better serve the community. We have a larger treatment area, a dual surgical suite and 10 examination rooms to accommodate our patients

Mission — Our mission is to provide you and your pets with service of the highest quality, keep your companions healthy and give you peace of mind. We believe that it is through communicating with you, the pet owner, that we can both work together to give your pet a happy and healthy home environment
