Overview

The professional and courteous staff at Dover Area Animal Hospital seeks to provide the best possible medical care, surgical care, and dental care for their highly-valued patients. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care, and health-related educational opportunities for our clients

Doctors Daniel and David Pike opened the doors of Dover Area Animal Hospital on December 1, 1999. Their mother, Ursula Pike, served as their technician, receptionist, and bookkeeper. As word spread about these two dynamic individuals and their sincere compassion for large and small animals alike, their small client base grew dramatically. Over the next 5-7 years as the practice became well established, Doctors Dan and Dave recognized their need for additional staff and space. Additional veterinarians and technicians were added, along with additional space for a center treatment area and a new surgery wing. A boarding and grooming area was also added to better serve our client’s needs. Our staff today includes eight veterinarians and an array of extremely dedicated and knowledgeable technicians and receptionists

What reviewers say

83% Positive sentiment
based on 1,256 reviews

Dover Area Animal Hospital is a well-established veterinary practice offering comprehensive medical care, wellness checkups, surgeries, boarding, and grooming for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and small exotic pets. The facility is spacious, clean, and equipped with a large waiting area that allows pets to remain separated from one another. A dedicated team of veterinarians and support staff is widely regarded as compassionate, highly knowledgeable, and particularly skilled in handling anxious or exotic animals with patience. While many patients enjoy same-day or next-day appointments and efficient visit times, some patrons note occasional scheduling delays, high service costs, and challenges with communication or after-hours emergency availability.
