Clearview Animal Hospital has been proudly serving Hanover, PA, and the surrounding area including York, Adams, and Carroll counties since 1974. We provide a full range of routine medical, diagnostic, and surgical services for small animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and rodents. Our skilled technicians are also available for nail trims and routine bloodwork appointments. We're committed to our community and participate in several events each year to support local pet rescues and charities. The brand, CLEARVIEW ANIMAL HOSPITAL, has long been a part of the Hanover community and was established, right here in the Snack Capital of the World, in 1974 by Ivan L. Fillmore (DVM), a graduate of The Ohio State University. Dr. Fillmore owned and operated the veterinary hospital for twelve (12) years. Dr. Fillmore worked both in the practice and in the community and was elected president of The Hanover Rotary Club in the 1980s. He may also be remembered for his regular column in The Evening Sun entitled CARING FOR YOUR PET. Dr. Fillmore sold the practice and its associated real estate to Douglas J Pierson (VMD) in 1986. Dr. Pierson, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, operated the animal hospital for an additional thirteen (13) years, growing the brand and the client base significantly. In 1999, Dr. Pierson and his family decided to embark on veterinary missionary work and sold the practice and its associated real estate to Colleen M. Baylor (DVM) and James J. Lee (DVM). Over time, Dr. Lee became the sole owner of Clearview Animal Hospital. Dr. Baylor continued to focus on the care of our feline friends in neighboring Littlestown until rejoining our team, part-time, in 2025. Growth continued at Clearview under these owners, and the building underwent a substantial remodel during the early years of their ownership. In April 2021, Dr. Lee sold the practice and the associated real estate to Doris R. LaFaver (DVM). Dr. LaFaver, a graduate of The Ohio State University, joined the team as an associate veterinarian in the middle of 1998, hired by Dr. Pierson. She is thrilled to be part of and build upon this practice's 50-year legacy in Hanover and the growing surrounding York-Adams-Carroll communities. The Clearview Family is proud to continue doing business as CLEARVIEW ANIMAL HOSPITAL, and we're pleased that this practice celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2024! Many veterinary professionals, from doctors to technicians to assistants to groomers, have worked very hard over these 50+ years to build this strong legacy, to write this long history, and to solidify this commitment to the Hanover community.
