Since 1973 Dr. J. Andrew Gingrich and his wife Sandy have been serving the Mercersburg community providing quality, compassionate care to all creatures great and small. In 2017 after 44 years of practice Dr. Gingrich and Sandy came to the hard decision to retire. Dr. Crouse has spent the last 10 years shadowing Dr. Gingrich and with very similar personalities and compassion for animals seemed to be the perfect fit to take over the practice. Dr. Crouse grew up in Saint Thomas, PA and attended James Buchanan High School where he participated in the band as well as track and field. He then continued his education at Shippensburg University receiving a Bachlors in Biology with a Pre-Vet concentration. Upon receiving his bachlors degree he continued his education at Ross University of Veterinary Medicine on St. Kitts Island. Dr. Crouse finished his clinical year at the University of Missouri in January 2015. After graduating veterinary school he began working for Dr. John Stoner in Shippensburg at Mt. Rock and Shippensburg Animal Hospital as a mixed animal veterinarian. Dr. Crouse worked for Dr. Stoner for two years before being approached by Dr. Gingrich to purchase his practice. Dr. Zachary Crouse purchased the practice from Dr. Gingrich in January 2017 and has been seeing patients at the location ever since continuing Dr. Gingrich's dream of quality, compassionate service to his clients and new ones
