Overview
We come to you – Veterinary House Calls! Expert Vet Care. At Dr. Fausel's Home Veterinary Care, we care about you and your pet. That's why we make house calls! We understand how anxious pets can become traveling to and being at animal hospitals, and how comfortable they are in their own home. We also know how busy life can get, and how valuable your time is. Dr. Fausel has a special interest in geriatric and ailing pets, patients who can most benefit from a house call veterinarian. His knowledge and expertise are complemented by his compassion for animals, the driving force behind his desire to become a veterinarian. Dr. Fausel comes to you to provide wellness care, sick pet care, hospice care, and when it is time, euthanasia for your beloved pet
Dr. Scott Fausel grew up in the suburbs of New York City, and had a childhood filled with pets of all kinds. These included dogs, guinea pigs, lizards, gerbils, snakes, and more. Similarly, he spent many hours trekking about the woods near his home to observe animals in their habitat. He also stayed up late reading library books, often by flashlight under the sheets in order to evade detection by his parents. Dr. Fausel's love for all animals guided him naturally to the profession of veterinary medicine. Dr. Fausel attended Brown University in Providence, RI, where he consequently graduated with an Sc.B. with high honors in Biology and Medicine. He relocated to the Philadelphia area in order to attend veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. During that time he also pursued graduate studies in Pharmacology at the Medical School. After graduation, Dr. Fausel joined a general practice in Devon, PA, There for eight years he served pet families on the Main Line of Philadelphia, both in the hospital and as a house call veterinarian. He later moved to an emergency & specialty hospital in Newark, DE, where he served as Medical Director and practiced emergency medicine, ultrasound, and cardiology. Finally, life called Dr. Fausel to Berks County in 2010, and he has made his home here since, serving as Medical Director of Berks Animal Emergency & Referral Center. Dr. Fausel started Home Veterinary Care because he saw the need for expert, compassionate pet care in a less stressful environment than the hospital setting. His previous experience on the Main Line showed him the benefits of more personalized, in-depth consults on patient well-being
