Overview

Rehabilitating your pets in the comfort of their own home

My name is Bridget Luke and I am a veterinarian and certified canine rehabilitation practitioner. That is Jack in the picture above. He was my primary mentor to becoming a 'rehabber'. Jack was affectionately deemed a 'lemon' by his loving owners and by his veterinarian, me. Jack tore the cranial cruciate ligament in each of his back legs, had IBD, developed cervical myelopathy, elbow arthritis, horrible elbow calluses, collapsed paws, and GOLPP (geriatric onset laryngeal paralysis & polyneuropathy). Jack should not have been able to walk, let alone live a comfortable, happy, well-lived, and superbly loved life had it not been for his owners taking my advice and seeking rehab therapy when he was 9 years old . He proceeded to go for an additional 2 years and would have gone longer except for succumbing to cancer at the age of 11. His owners and I repeatedly proclaim that he would not have lived nearly that long without the benefits of rehab therapy. Jack was the first, and maybe the most needed, patient of mine to seek rehab but he wasn't the last. Over the past 10 years I have seen countless patients that have benefitted from either a few sessions to chronic treatments that I truly believe may not still be with us if it weren't for the positive impacts of rehab therapy. From tetraparetic dogs that can now walk unassisted, and even play with housemates, to cats and dogs with osteoarthritis that don't need to take as much pain medication because laser therapy has modulated the biochemical reactions in their joints to decrease pain & inflammation and exercises have improved their muscle mass. After seeing so many positive outcomes and finally becoming certified, I am ready to offer similar benefits to your pets, in the comfort of their home
