Overview
The McMinn Regional Humane Society is made up of people who love animals. We are located at The Larry Dean Wallace Sr. Animal Shelter and Adoption Center. MRHS is comprised of our Spay & Neuter Clinic and our Adoption Center. While each entity has their own staff, we rely heavily on volunteers!
In early 1990, six women met at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Athens, Tennessee to form a humane society that would assist the City of Athens Animal Shelter. The McMinn Regional Humane Society (MRHS) was chartered in September, 1990. By-laws were adopted and officers were seated in October 1990. Our 501(c)(3) was approved in 1991
