Founded by Dr. Akin Simpson, Highland Animal Hospital originally operated as a private practice until its acquisition by Dr. Scott Burt in 1983. Dr. Burt continued to manage the hospital as a private practice for 36 years. In October 2019, Heartland Veterinary Partners acquired Highland Animal Hospital, ushering in a new chapter of continued excellence in veterinary care. Since February 2024, Dr. Kate Roeder has been an integral part of the Highland Animal Hospital team
