Overview

At Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery of North Texas, we provide top-quality veterinary dental care to pets in our community. Our staff treats you like family and each pet like our own. We are honored and proud to be a partner in your pet's healthcare team. As pet owners ourselves, we believe that regular dental care is important to your pet living a longer, healthier, and happier life. As a full-service veterinary dental and oral surgery office, we offer state-of-the-art testing and diagnostics, an array of advanced care, routine and advanced oral surgical procedures, and many other services to provide your pet with the best possible care for their teeth. We welcome new patients to our office and look forward to meeting you and your pet

In 2014, Dr. Heidi Lobprise, DVM, DAVDC, opened a dental specialty wing with practice manager Shannon VanTrease within Main Street Veterinary Hospital. As retirement neared, she elected to take on a resident who could continue her legacy of high-quality care in DFW. In 2017, Dr. Jessica Johnson began her dental residency after ten years of small animal veterinary medicine & surgery experience. In 2022, Dr. Johnson became a Board-Certified Veterinary Dentist™. Shortly afterward, the entire dental team moved to the brand new Flower Mound Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center a few miles away. In 2023, Dr. Taylor Cortez and Dr. Geneva Kernaghan became dental residents, bringing over a decade of small animal veterinary medicine & surgery experience. We are also a teaching facility hosting veterinary students, general practitioners, and dental residents. In 2024, our team determined that we needed more space to continue to offer both high-quality care and to grow our ability to educate the veterinarian community about veterinary dentistry. And in the fall of 2024, we are moving to a facility exclusively devoted to veterinary dentistry & oral surgery. In 2025, we will open the Dental Teaching Facility, where we will provide wet labs to veterinarians, dentistry residents, and, at a future date, veterinary technicians

Mission — Our mission is to deliver compassionate care and exceptional service to our patients, their families, and the community. We embrace all pet owners and handlers seeking a warm atmosphere for high-quality medical care and client education. Our team is united by a passion for animals, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a culture of respect for every client, patient, and teammate. We work closely with you to provide the best treatment plan tailored to the unique needs of your pet, recognizing them as individuals deserving personalized care. To advance veterinary medicine and train the next generation of veterinarians locally and nationally, we have established a state-of-the-art training facility. Whether in teaching or treating, we uphold a respectful and inclusive environment for all who we have the honor to serve. We foster a supportive, high-performing veterinary team where every individual feels empowered to contribute their expertise, leading to outstanding patient outcomes and an exceptional client experience
