Overview
We treat your pet the way we would treat our own
Town and Country Veterinary Medical Center has been a privately owned clinic serving the people of The Killeen, Ft Cavasos (Formerly Ft. Hood), Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Lampassas and beyond. It started with Dr. Gene W Ray as a solo, mixed animal practitioner at 608 E Elms Rd in Killeen (not far from our current location) over 40 years ago. Military personnel have been the lifeblood of this area and the future of Town & Country was no different. In the 80's Dr. Ray was joined by Dr. Mitchell Jacobs, a retired officer from Alabama. There were a handful of veterinarians over the years that helped out from time to time but in the middle 2000's Dr. Austin Ledger, a native from Copperas Cove, joined the team as the third permanent veterinarian. In mid 2010's the 4th permanent veterinarian joined the group with Dr. Corey Dutkiewicz who is himself a local of Killeen. Since then Dr. Jacobs and Dr. Ray have retired and Town & Country has exploded to become a 7 doctor practice
