Dr. Ward Conover earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. After graduating, he started working at a mixed animal practice in Gonzales, treating both large and small animals. He then split his time between two clinics - a small animal clinic in Canyon Lake for three days a week, and a mixed animal practice in Karnes City for the remainder of the week. In 1997, Dr. Conover fulfilled his dream of opening his own practice, establishing Conover Veterinary Hospital in Seguin
