Animal Birth Control Clinic is a nonprofit organization providing access to affordable preventative veterinary care for Central Texas

The Animal Birth Control Clinic evolved from Animal Aid Humane Society, which was founded in 1971 with a mission to improve animal welfare in Waco and surrounding communities. Originally focused on various aspects of animal care, the organization collaborated closely with the Waco Humane Society Animal Shelter, offering support with medical expenses and spay/neuter services. At one point, we even employed a cruelty investigator to address cases in Waco and McLennan County. In 1983, we expanded by partnering with local veterinarians to provide affordable spay/neuter services for low-income pet owners. By 1988, the Animal Birth Control Clinic was established as a stationary clinic to address the growing number of family pets. Our clinic primarily serves Waco and McLennan County, though we now welcome families from all counties. Currently, we are proud to perform over 300 surgeries per week, making a massive impact in reducing the number of lost, unhoused, sheltered, and unnecessarily euthanized animals
