Dr. Metcalf grew up on the back of a horse in a small farming and ranching community in Northern Oklahoma. In 2001 he attended the Oklahoma Horseshoeing School which he used as a trade to work his way through Vet School at Oklahoma State University. During this time, Dr. Metcalf also worked at Oakridge Equine Hospital. After graduation, he returned to Oakridge to complete an internship in the fields of Sports Medicine, Lameness, Surgery and Emergency Medicine. Dr. Metcalf gained invaluable experience working for well-known referral hospitals - Oklahoma City Equine and ESMS before establishing his own practice in 2016
