Brookside Animal Hospital opened in the 1960s at the corner of 12th Street and Wall Avenue in Ogden. Drs. Isaacson and Liljenquist were the first two veterinarians at Brookside, working on both large and small animals. In 1967, after graduating from Colorado State University, Dr. Frank Markos joined the practice and quickly became a partner. His hard work and dedication helped Brookside to grow and he was instrumental in starting the first emergency referral center in Northern Utah in 2000. Dr. Markos retired in October 2018 after more than 50 years of practice. Over time, the practice became exclusively small animal focused. Dr. Kathryn Penrod joined the practice in 2000 and became the owner of Brookside in 2004. Dr. Eleanor Jenson joined the practice in 2004 and Dr. Stacey Henderson in 2006. All are graduates of Colorado State University. In 2008, a new facility was constructed on the corner of 7th Street and Wall Avenue to accommodate the rapid growth the practice was experiencing and a partnership between Drs. Markos, Penrod, Jenson, and Henderson was forged
