Bark City was founded by Dr. Brian Beale, who improved the Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) procedure by pioneering the Arthroscopic TPLO. Today this procedure is the most effective and minimally-invasive form of cranial cruciate repair. Dr. Beale co-authored Small Animal Arthroscopy, the textbook that was a foundation for many modern minimally-invasive surgery techniques. Bark City is a part of Beale's Best, an independent veterinarian-owned group dedicated to driving excellence in Specialty Medicine through hands-on Continuing Education, Clinical Research, and building non-corporate Specialty Hospitals with a culture focused on excellence in Clinical Care
