Overview
As a nonprofit organization, the Bristol Humane Society is committed to ensuring that animal caretakers in our community have access to low-cost spay/neuter services and essential veterinary care for dogs and cats. Our licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians provide preventive care to help keep your pets healthy, though we are not a full-service veterinary provider. We offer reduced cost essential services like spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, parasite control, wellness exams, and routine treatments
Bristol Humane Society has provided Low-Cost Essential Veterinary Care for over 20 Years. Founded in 1964 by Margaret B. Mitchell, the Bristol Humane Society has a long history of promoting animal well-being. Ms. Mitchell served as president of Bristol Humane Society for many years and left a portion of her estate to support the cause, which contributed to the opening of the Margaret B. Mitchell Spay/Neuter Clinic in 2005, the first of its kind in Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. We perform over 14,000 surgeries each year and expanded our services to include low-cost vaccination clinics in 2015 and essential wellness care in 2022
Mission — As a nonprofit organization, the mission of Bristol Humane Society is to provide accessible resources that ensure animals are healthy and happy while keeping pets in homes and out of shelters
