At Locust Grove Veterinary Clinic, we believe every pet deserves gentle, knowledgeable care, and every family deserves a veterinary team they can trust. Serving Locust Grove, Spotsylvania County, Culpeper County, Orange County, VA and surrounding communities, our clinic provides a full range of veterinary services for dogs and cats. From routine wellness exams to advanced diagnostics and holistic therapies, we help pets stay healthy and families feel confident in their care through every stage of their pet’s life

Dr. Anita Walton’s path to veterinary medicine began in a rather unusual way. Originally an art major, she later worked for the postal service before discovering the NVCC veterinary technology program. That moment was a turning point. Once she entered the world of veterinary medicine, she knew she had found her true calling. After becoming a licensed veterinary technician, her curiosity and drive to do more led her to pursue veterinary school. She completed her veterinary degree at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, which at the time was one of the country’s newer programs. She worked at two other practices, then branched out on her own in 1992. Her early years in practice allowed her to gain experience in small animal medicine, but she had a vision for something more. She also began studying holistic medicine, which she felt very drawn to. She eventually decided that she wanted her own practice, so she could combine conventional veterinary medicine with holistic therapies, offering patients the best of both worlds. In 1996, after looking for an underserved area for the new clinic, Dr. Walton and her parents moved to Locust Grove and started work. Before the clinic’s doors officially opened, she made house calls, providing care directly in the community
