Dr. Casey's start as a graduate farrier prior to his becoming a veterinarian has proven to be an integral part of his knowledge base. Dr. Casey has served as the president of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncturist (AAVA), and he earned his certification in the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) in 1994. He was one of the earliest veterinarians to add acupuncture and osteopathic adjustments to his resume of knowledge, thus incorporating western medicine as well as eastern medicine into his diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities. 1973: Graduate Farrier. 1984: Veterinary School. 1984: LSU Clinical Rotations. 1994: Certified IVAS Acupuncturist.
