Deer Park Animal Hospital-PADS is a veterinary practice in Newport News, VA, that provides affordable surgery and dentistry procedures only. It was originally a full-service hospital but transitioned in 2017 to focus on surgical and dental care at reduced costs

Our Newport News veterinary clinic, Deer Park Animal Hospital has been in operation since the 1980s, and was taken over by Dr. John Savell in 2003. We have made the change from a full-service hospital providing vaccinations, routine wellness-care, internal medicine, boarding and grooming, etc. to providing only surgery and dentistry procedures at considerably reduced costs. For over two years, this was an ancillary program in our full-service hospital. However, we quickly saw the great need for such a program and have been extremely gratified that we have been able to help several thousand pets suffering from treatable conditions. In 2017 we made the change to a surgery and dentistry-only practice

Mission — To provide affordable surgical and dental care to prevent economic euthanasia and suffering, treating pets as valued family members. Motto: 'We are a family helping families'
