Overview
Angels of Assisi is a Community Pet Clinic & Adoption Center. Changing the role of an animal shelter to create a world where every pet in our community gets the care they need and a home they deserve
Established in 2001, Angels of Assisi is private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any corporation. For the past 22 years, Angels of Assisi has worked out of an old building in downtown Roanoke, which helped us build a lot of character, and we are currently moving into a large, brand new facility a few blocks away
Mission — Angels of Assisi is changing the role of an animal shelter to include resources, programs, and services to benefit the pets in our communities and the people who love them. We are an independent, nonprofit animal welfare organization serving Southwest Virginia and West Virginia. Along with our Adoption Center and Farm Sanctuary, we offer a Community Pet Clinic, rural veterinary care, support in cruelty investigations, disaster response, and a safety net program for those needing temporary help due to domestic violence or emergency situations
