Dr. Sargent moved to the Mount Vernon area in July 2017 after purchasing Highland Veterinary Hospital. Approximately a year later, he purchased Mountain View Veterinary Clinic. The two clinics were subsequently combined and the Mountain View Veterinary Clinic name was chosen due to our view of Mount Baker and Dr. Sargent's passion for the outdoors

Mountain View Veterinary Clinic in Mount Vernon is an independent veterinary practice offering comprehensive care for dogs, cats, birds, and exotic pets including reptiles and poultry. The practice is widely regarded for its compassionate, Fear Free approach that helps anxious and reactive animals feel safe and calm during visits. The veterinary team is praised for being exceptionally thorough, taking time to explain treatment options, and avoiding unnecessary upselling. The facility is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and features a welcoming, park-like setting. While most interactions are overwhelmingly positive, some occasional friction is noted regarding front desk communication and scheduling urgency. Overall, the practice delivers high-quality, reasonably priced medical and end-of-life care with dedicated follow-up.
