Overview

Braun Veterinary Housecalls make vet visits pleasant for your pet, offering housecall medicine and wellness. We offer both traditional conventional (western) medicine and integrative care (including herbs and homeopathy), acupuncture and cold laser therapy!

Dr. Jana Braun originally hails from the frozen tundra of the Midwest. After being raised in Minnesota, she moved slightly east to attend undergrad at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Melding her passion for science and animals, she began working as a veterinary assistant in clinic in Wisconsin. During those three years, she learned to love the medicine side of the field and studied to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, also from University of Wisconsin at Madison in 2012, with a year spent pursuing a Master’s degree at the National Wildlife Health Center studying oral vaccination strategies for wildlife. After graduating, she did a year-long internship in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Finally fed up with so much cold and snow, she and her husband moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She began working in several local VCA clinics in Silver Lake, Woodinville, and Sammamish. Looking for complementary modalities to traditional Western medicine, she completed acupuncture certification through the CuraCore course in Colorado in 2017. Veterinary Housecalls began appealing to her as she saw how more relaxed and comfortable pets were for acupuncture treatments in their home rather than the clinical setting, allowing for more successful treatments. Seeing the benefit first-hand of these treatments, she left her practice in November 2019. Realizing she missed the medicine and wellness care, she began offering wellness and medicine to pets in February 2020, in the same lower-stress and more comprehensive care housecall setting. Always honing her skills, she is currently pursuing special training in feline acupuncture and exotic animal acupuncture
