Mukwonago Animal Hospital has been caring for pets since 1983. Dr. Richard Ladewig established the practice and was a solo practitioner in the small building in front of the Elegant Farmer for 7 years. In 1990, Dr. Ladewig built at our current location, and Dr. Thomas Herlugson joined the practice in 1991. The 'Log Cabin' Veterinary Clinic soon became a well-known landmark in Mukwonago. At that time, the practice was a mixed animal practice, and horses were sometimes cared for in stalls in the current basement level. As Mukwonago grew and the typical clientele changed, the practice transitioned to a small animal exclusive practice, and boarding kennels for dogs replaced the horse stalls in the basement. In 1999 and 2009 respectively, Dr. LeeAnne Sherrod and Dr. Danielle Bittner joined the practice. In 2015, Dr. Ladewig retired and sold the practice to Dr. Herlugson, Dr. Sherrod and Dr. Bittner
