Gentle Blessings was founded in 2025 by Dr. Kathleen Blessing, DVM, out of a deep compassion for animals and a commitment to providing peaceful, compassionate end-of-life care for pets. Dr. Blessing's decision to pursue at-home euthanasia stems from a deeply personal experience. When her dog was diagnosed with cancer, she faced the challenge of balancing her new role as a mother and caring for her in her final days. After a joyful but difficult outing to the park, she knew it was time to let her go. Although they lived near the clinic, she wanted her final moments to be peaceful and familiar, so she asked a close veterinarian friend to come to their home. After she had passed, she looked at her friend and said, 'Why would anyone want to take their pet to a clinic for this?' That moment opened her eyes to how comforting it can be for both pets and their families to have the option of euthanasia at home, surrounded by love and familiarity
