Augusta Animal Hospital offers preventative medicine, surgical services, in-house laboratory services with same day results, digital radiology, ultrasound, dental services, surgical laser, therapeutic laser, assistance to breeders including OFA xrays and pregnancy conformation, and electronic digital records

Augusta Animal Hospital was opened in 1981 by Dr. Lowell Hott. The original animal hospital was located on Ford Hill Rd and focused on small town quality veterinary care. In 2021, Dr. Hott sold the practice to Heather Shaffer, a Hampshire County native, who always dreamed of returning to her home town and continuing the same level of quality care to her community. Dr. Shaffer has worked in Berkeley County and Winchester, Virginia prior to returning to Hampshire County. She opened a new state of the art veterinary hospital in 2023 located off of route 50 in Augusta
