Overview

Kindred Journey Veterinary End-of-Life Care is a mobile veterinary practice that exclusively provides compassionate in-home euthanasia, hospice, & palliative care for the beloved pets of the Kanawha Valley and surrounding areas

Kindred Journey Veterinary End-of-Life Care was born from a deep love for animals and a calling to provide compassionate care during life's most tender moments. The deep connection that exists between humans and their pets built on unconditional love, loyalty, and trust deserves to be honored throughout every stage of life, including the final goodbye. Our mission is to provide dignified and compassionate in-home euthanasia, hospice, & palliative care services that honor the unique bond between pets and their families. We understand that saying goodbye is never easy, but we strive to create a space of peace and serenity where cherished memories can be celebrated. It is an honor to walk alongside families during this time, offering not only care for their beloved pets but also support for their hearts. Dr. Sierra grew up in Poca, West Virginia, with a love for animals that was evident from the start. As a child, she was often found loving on stray cats and attempting to convince her parents to welcome them into their home. She shared her childhood with a spirited group of dachshunds and a few beloved cats, which nurtured her deep connection to animals. A graduate of Nitro High School, Dr. Sierra earned her Bachelor's degree in Animal and Nutritional Sciences from West Virginia University in 2013. She continued her education at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2017. Following veterinary school, Dr. Sierra returned home to practice at the clinic where she had spent many summers growing into her role as a young veterinarian. While she cherished the opportunity to care for pets in her community, she felt she had the most profound impact providing compassionate end-of-life care. This passion led her to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she worked for a veterinary in-home hospice and euthanasia practice. There, she guided hundreds of families through the difficult but meaningful journey of saying goodbye to their beloved companions. Inspired to bring this deeply meaningful service to her home, Dr. Sierra founded Kindred Journey Veterinary End-of-Life Care to ensure that the people and pets of the Kanawha Valley have access to compassionate in-home hospice and euthanasia care. She believes every family and pet deserves the option for dignity and peace that this care provides
