Welcome to Elm Grove Animal Hospital, a trusted and compassionate family-owned veterinary care provider since 1985. Our legacy began with the late Dr. Michael Ruben, affectionately known as 'Uncle Mike,' who had a vision for creating a practice that offered top-quality services for pets in the Wheeling community. Through his dedication and determination, he successfully obtained a grant from the city to commission our building, laying the foundation for the exceptional care we provide today. In the 1990s, Dr. Sparling joined our team to support Dr. Ruben during his illness. Dr. Sparling's commitment to our patients and their families was evident from the start, as he continued to work one day a week (Thursday) while managing his own practice. When Dr. Ruben sadly passed away on December 23, 2018, Dr. Sparling stepped in to ensure the continuity of care at Elm Grove Animal Hospital
