Golden Pond Veterinary Services

I am a sole practitioner, working out of my small clinic in the woods. I am offering wellness veterinary services to the Talkeetna area, including Trapper Creek, Chase, Montana Creek, Caswell, and surrounding areas

I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and over the years wandered westward and northward, consistently seeking a life with more trees, more mountains, and more animals (pets and wildlife!). I graduated from University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 and worked for 10 years in and around San Francisco. I overlapped that time with another 10 years working as an outdoor instructor, backpacking and sea kayaking my way to remote places on this amazing planet. It was an outdoor course in 2006 that gave me the opportunity to experience Alaska for the first time. The following year, in 2007, I came up to Talkeetna and fell in love with the sense of community and contentment that was evident in everyone I met (including the dogs!). I've been living up here steadily since March 2011 and began offering veterinary services in February 2012. I've vetted on the Iditarod and other races and love working with dog teams as well as pets. I also used to work at an all cat clinic, and am secretly a cat person living in a dog-town. After 12 years of being a sole practitioner and struggling with my life/work balance in a small town, I have decided to simplify things right now and I am cutting back to only seeing dogs and cats for vaccinations/annual exams and health certificate exams. I will no longer be offering any diagnostics or treatments
