Overview

Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic is a leading veterinary clinic providing compassionate care and trusted solutions for the lifelong health of your pets. At Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic, we love animals, and we believe they make our lives better every day

Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic was established in 1990 by Dr. Bob Prestwich and Dr. Rick Exstrom, who each owned their own veterinary hospitals in Placerville. Dr. Prestwich and Dr. Exstrom saw a need for veterinary care in South County and the surrounding areas and developed Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic as a satellite clinic, independent of their own businesses. We started with one doctor and two staff members. Dr. Karen Jackett joined the practice 6 months after the grand opening, and the practice quickly began to grow. In 2004, Dr. Jackett purchased Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic and began to expand. Since 2004, Dr. Jackett has upgraded the existing diagnostic equipment and added new equipment, expanding our capabilities to add services she felt would benefit our patients. In order to accommodate our growing practice, Dr. Jackett knew we would have to relocate into a larger space. She found the perfect location in the mostly undeveloped property located across the street from the shopping center in Pleasant valley where we were already established. Building a new veterinary hospital from the ground up was not without its challenges, but in November 2013 we moved into our brand new facility
