Fremont Veterinary Hospital is a family-owned veterinary practice in Cañon City, proudly serving Fremont County and nearby communities since 1951. The hospital offers small-animal care in a 5,600-square-foot facility with surgical, X-ray, laboratory, radiographic, ultrasound, and dental capabilities. Dr. Ronald Smith purchased Fremont Veterinary Hospital from Dr. Gerald Shiner. In 1993, he purchased Canon City Small Animal Hospital from Dr. Paul Hildebrand and combined the practices. In 2000, he built a new facility where the practice is now. In 2021, Dr. Smith passed the torch to Dr. Metcalfe as the new owner of FVH
