Overview
Your Family Veterinarian Committed to Excellence. The Connecticut Veterinary Center team welcomes you to our three state-of-the-art animal hospitals in West Hartford, Kensington, and Windsor. When you bring your pet to one of our three animal hospital locations, you can expect the same level of exceptional, pet-centered care from every member of our veterinary team. At our West Hartford location, we have advanced technology for your pet's treatment and because we are all a part of the same animal hospital system, we welcome our patients to visit our other locations to take advantage of the services offered there
Established in November 1958, the Connecticut Veterinary Center stands as the embodiment of Dr. Hubert L. Hopkinson's visionary dream. In its early years, the practice was a one-person operation, with Dr. Hopkinson single-handedly managing every aspect, from answering phones to laboratory work, office duties, and even kennel maintenance. It was not uncommon to see 'Hop,' as he's affectionately known, mowing the grass and washing windows himself. As time passed and the practice flourished, Dr. Hopkinson expanded his team, allowing him to dedicate more time to patient care, contributing to his now-renowned reputation. Today, Connecticut Veterinary Center is still led by a passionate group of doctors committed to upholding the high standards and compassionate care that have been our hallmark since the very beginning. The growth of the practice prompted the introduction of our emergency service, which not only serves our clients but also area referral veterinarians and their clients. In addition, Connecticut Veterinary Center has further extended its reach by opening additional practices in Kensington and Windsor. These satellite facilities were established with a vision of providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for our animal patients. Assisted by an in-house transportation service, they seamlessly transfer clients' pets to our West Hartford location, fully equipped with advanced diagnostics, including ultrasounds, endoscopy, and an in-house blood bank for transfusions. We are proud to hold accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), reflecting our unwavering commitment to upholding and surpassing the highest standards of veterinary care, ensuring our patients always receive exceptional treatment and attention. Our journey here at Connecticut Veterinary Center is a testament to the unwavering dedication and passion beginning with one man that gave way to an entire team that followed. From humble beginnings to a network of facilities offering top-notch medical care, we've remained committed to the well-being of our patients and the satisfaction of our clients. We take pride in the continuous growth and evolution that have allowed us to better serve our community. Our legacy is one of excellence, compassion, and a deep-seated love for animals, and it's a legacy we carry forward with gratitude and enthusiasm
