Dr. Albert Williams grew up on a farm in Lake City, Florida, where he was surrounded by everything from dogs and cats to cattle, horses, pigs, and chickens. When he was three years old and got his first pet, a German Shepherd puppy named Skeeter, he accompanied his mother and the pup to the local veterinarian’s office. As soon as the doctor entered the exam room, young Dr. Williams was in awe. He knew that he wanted to become an animal doctor himself! Dr. Williams began his journey by studying animal science at the University of Florida. He started volunteering at a clinic in Gainesville at the same time, and was hired on about two weeks later—he credits his experiences there for forming the foundation of his veterinary knowledge that he still uses every day. Next, Dr. Williams graduated with his Bachelor’s degree, completed a year of post-baccalaureate studies, and was then accepted into the class of 1992 at the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating and passing his board exams to become a licensed veterinarian, Dr. Williams accepted a job offer from a prestigious animal hospital in Miami. He would spend the next 11 years there honing his craft, eventually becoming a Senior Associate Veterinarian, and then purchased the hospital’s North Miami Beach location in September of 2003. Dr. Williams recently relocated the practice to a newly renovated, larger space—that’s where he and his team serve the area’s pets and animal owners today!
